Meet the Team:

Kristen Suding - Principal Designer & CEO

Kristen Suding grew up in Muncie, IN, and graduated from Ball State University with a degree in Interior Design and Architecture in 2006. After graduation, she moved to Indianapolis where she worked as an Interior Designer and Project Manager at d2p, LLC. After five years at d2p, Kristen and her husband decided it was time to grow their family and Kristen became a full-time mama. It was hard to leave but after having her second child Kristen built a wonderful client base and knew it was time to finally launch her own business. And that is how Inland Interiors was born.

Kristen now resides back in her hometown of Muncie with her amazingly supportive husband, Eric, two hilarious and adorable kids named Isla and Adler, and two troublemaker pups named Lucy and Marley.

With a love for all things creative, Kristen thrives on helping her clients add personality, organization, and a little bit of sophistication to their spaces. Bright, fresh, clean interiors infused with pops of color and bold patterns are the focus of her projects but she ensures a close relationship between client and designer to achieve the most personal end result.

Hiring an interior designer can seem very overwhelming but it doesn't have to be that way. Kristen always aims to make it manageable for the client's schedule, easy on the budget, classic in design style, and thoughtful every step of the way.


Staci Slavin - Project Manager & Chaos Coordinator
Staci Slavin is a resident of Muncie, IN, and a graduate of Ball State University with a Bachelor's in Social Work and Counseling Psychology. Staci has worked in the retail sector going on 20 years. She spent several years teaching media sales at BSU in the Telecommunications Department before joining her husband, Steve Slavin in the real estate business. Staci's most important role is that of a mother to Stevie and Ben Slavin.

After missing the world of design, Staci reached out to Kristen and suggested that they start working together on some projects. Staci quickly took to the role of Project Manager and left real estate in 2018 to work for Inland full-time. The design team quickly realized that more space was needed than their kitchen tables could provide. Staci and Steve realized their dreams of owning commercial property when they purchased an old building on Main Street in downtown Muncie. After 8 months of renovation, the building now houses the Inland Design Studio and Steve and Staci's residence upstairs. A year in, the Slavin team loves living in downtown Muncie and just keeps adding to their building inventory with plans of more expansion for Inland

Cathy Purtlebaugh - Pricing Coordinator & Customer Care
Cathy is a graduate of Ball State University with a bachelor's degree in Special Education and a Master's Degree in Learning/Emotional Disabilities. Cathy taught for 36 years in Public Schools and has worked as a substitute teacher since retiring. When Inland Interiors moved to its new space, Cathy jumped in with both feet into the retail world of Inland Goods. Her years spent teaching and helping others have been a huge asset to this new endeavor.

A country girl at her core, Cathy loves to be outdoors whether biking, gardening, or playing with her 5 amazing grandkids. A seamstress since high school and a self-taught upholsterer, Cathy does mush of Inland’s custom draperies, pillows, and upholstering.

Cathy’s greatest achievement is being the greatest mom to her “favorite child” and Inland Owner, Kristen, and wife to her sweet husband, Ron.

Ben Slavin - Marketing Coordinator
Ben is a student at Ball State University and is majoring in Business Marketing. Ben brings an abundance of personality, humor, and tech savviness to our studio. As a fast learner full of creative ideas he helped bring Inland Goods to our online platform.

We truly are a family at Inland as Ben’s mom is our Project Manager, Staci. Ben is certain he gets his creative eye from his mother!
