It all started in February 2024. Florence had been without an independent bookstore for about a decade and as I sat lamenting this fact in my study one Saturday morning, something dawned on me. Seemingly out of nowhere, the idea to open a bookstore in downtown Florence. What began as a far out, completely impractical and unrealistic- but also thoroughly captivating- idea quickly became one I couldn't put down. So at breakfast I very casually asked my pregnant wife what she thought about us opening a bookstore.
Eight months later, Jack's Books was officially opened to the public!
In those eight months, through a series of answered prayers, we found and secured the ideal location and transformed it into the beautiful, well-loved space it is today.
I think books and reading are exceptionally important and valuable. Part of our vision for the store is to bring more and more people into contact with the True, the Good and the Beautiful through great books and a wonderful community.
